Boarding at St Saviour's College will cease at the end of 2025.

McAuley boarding is a vibrant community, catering for girls in Years 7-12 in a safe and supportive environment.
McAuley house offers accommodation for up to 70 students and we pride ourselves on our diverse community of learners.

The girls are cared for and nurtured by qualified staff. The staff foster a strong sense of connection and belonging, allowing girls to develop independence, resourcefulness, resilience and self-confidence.

Our boarders come from our local area, regional Queensland, Far North Queensland, Cape York and the Torres Strait and Western NSW. The girls bring with them a wide range of abilities, learnings and life experiences. Our boarders have a strong presence in school life including leadership, academia, sports and the arts.

McAuley girls are Mercy girls; identified by their integrity, commitment to spiritual growth, service to others and justice in the world.
Residential staff and students work together to nurture:

  • a homely setting where all experience a sense of belonging, are valued and believe they can succeed.
  • personal and academic independence within a nurturing and supportive environment.

Acknowledging and celebrating diversity, culture and the uniqueness of each young person, ensures that each girl is known and appreciated as a contributing member of the McAuley House community.

The boarding co-curricular program fosters participation in a range of activities including sport, arts, culture and wellbeing.

Partnerships and connections with communities, families and past pupils, both nationally and internationally forge enduring relationships.

McAuley house is a member of the Australian Boarding Schools Association which serves to support and develop best practice in residential communities across Australia.
